Auckland Shows announced

Martin Phillipps solo/The Chills one-off shows announced for Auckland.

Dunedin based band The Chills are pleased to announce they will be performing a one-off Auckland show Friday 29 July at The Kings Arms.
Joining them on stage will be another seminal Dunedin band - The Puddle.

This show will follow The Chills founder Martin Phillipps' solo performance in support of the Hone Tuwhare Trust Thursday 7 July at The Classic Theatre.

Martin comments:
"I am really getting lots of enjoyment out of my music at present and it will be great fun to have the 5 piece band we took to Australia last year on stage again.
Regarding the solo show supporting the idea of a writers residence around Hone's crib, Kaka Point is a wonderful environment and I am sure it will prove to be creatively
stimulating for many people. I am proud to have been asked to participate in this benefit gig."

The Chills played 2 sold out shows to critical acclaim in Sydney and Melbourne last year and have had their music recognized in a number of ways recently including:
-Placement on a soon to be released MGMT curated compilation under the acclaimed Night Time Stories label.
-A cover version of Pink Frost placed in the Bondi Rescue TV Show.
-Pink Frost featuring in a new NZ TV show Nothing Trivial.
-US band The Black Lips recommending The Chills to their fan base
-A cover of Softbomb is soon to be released by US artist Jon DeRosa (Aarktica)
-This joins covers already completed by Holy Shit, The House Of Love, Brilliant Colours making Pink Frost cover video for their song Highly Evolved among others.
-Ukranian music Magazine Znaki featuring The Chills to their Russian readership worldwide.
